BASIC SAFETY POLICY BACK
When instructing workmen in the performance of their duties, make every effort to show them the safest way to do the job.
Train and instruct employees to practice safe work habits in areas that are classified as hazardous.and restricted.
Train employees not to become impatient. Upset, confusion and short cut safety leads to accidents.
Know your fellow workers. Some will require more detailed instruction and repetition of procedures than others.
Should an unsafe act be observed, call it to the workers attention immediately. If an individual continues to disregard safety, it is the duty of the observer to advise his supervisor in order to correct the problem.
Never take chances. Work in a safe manner. This will prove to be the fastest, most effective way of performing your work.
Use common sense and the benefit of experience. When in doubt, ask.
Have respect for others regardless of color, race or creed and help them protect themselves. In doing so you are helping yourself.
Keep all workspace and surrounding areas clean. Properly dispose of rubbish, put away unused tools and equipment and keep walkways, aisles and doorways clear at all times.
Practical jokes, horseplay, or scuffing will not be tolerated.
Each employee is expected to participate in weekly safety meetings.
If you are not a member of the Fire Response Team do not participate in a an operating plant fire, follow the fire evacuation procedure.
Employees are forbidden to ride on loads, tenders, running boards and tail gates. Drivers must inspect around and under vehicles before moving to prevent accident.
Employees are forbidden to ride on or climb up on any mobile equipment to talk to the operator.
Employees are forbidden to ride on any load that is being hoisted or be lifted on a crane hook.
Keep clear of suspended loads.
Employees must keep clear of operating equipment and energized switchgear at all times. Do not operate or work without approval to do so.
Employees must not use compressed air to blow dirt from their bodies, hands, hair or clothing or that of other workmen. Do not use compressed air to engage in horseplay.
Observe all NO SMOKING rules and do not bring matches or lighter onto the project when prohibited. Use designated smoking areas only.
Employees must use the sanitary facilities provided by Najran Company.
Use the right tool for the job. Do not use make shift tooling.
Work on process pipes and in-service equipment; and in enclosed workspaces requires special permitting. Used piping and equipment requires identification and marking by the person authorizing the work permit. Work in a closed space requires testing, air movement or breathing apparatus and an outside observer.
Follow all safety procedures applicable to the job being performed.
